 Ampac, an Australian manufacturer of fire detection and alarm systems, needed to modernise its finance and production systems. Manual processes and outdated enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms caused inefficiencies, data issues, and slow reporting, leaving teams without real-time visibility.


To address this, Ampac partnered with iCatalyst to reimplement Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The company leveraged iCatalyst’s expertise to deliver tailored solutions, including a custom-built Production Shop Floor Solution, a drawing approvals package, and an order intake solution.

  •  Replace unsupported ERP: legacy NAV system had become outdated and was no longer supported, creating risk for the business. 
  • Stay within Microsoft ecosystem: Ampac wanted to continue with NAV’s successor, Dynamics 365 Business Central, to access the latest functionality and future Microsoft add-ons. 
  • Adopt best practice: after years of costly customisations, the business needed a clean slate to improve efficiency and scalability. 
  • Improve visibility: management required real-time data for production, sales, and reporting, rather than waiting for batch runs.
